Earth Class – Year 2
My name is Miss Lynch and I am your child’s class teacher. In our class, the children will have Mrs Hobden supporting them with their work.
This half term we will be learning lots of new things. Our topic is Poles Apart and the children will be learning about the North Pole and the South Pole.
In English we have started the term looking at Non-Fiction writing and we will write a diary entry about a challenge we have faced.
Children will be continuing to work hard on their handwriting and they will focus on writing interesting sentences. In Maths we will consolidate children’s understanding of place value as well as the four calculations.
A few helpful reminders:
Our class timetable is displayed in the class window and in children’s reading records.
We have PE twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday. Children must have their PE kit for both days. Children must read and have their reading record signed every night. If this isn’t completed more than twice in a week then our child will miss playtime to read.
Please could you make sure that your child has a water bottle in school so they can keep hydrated throughout the day. Children will continue to have fruit time daily in class.
Homework is due on Wednesday and new homework will be given out on Thursday.
Please collect your child from the classroom at the end of the day.
