Mars – Year 3
My name is Miss Leane and I am your child’s class teacher. In our class, the children have Ms Hanifan supporting them with their work too.
This half term we will be learning lots of new and exciting things. Our topic is ‘Meet the Flintstones’ and we will be learning all about the Stone Age through researching, art and drama.
In English we will be looking at ‘The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe’ and writing stories based on this.
Now that the children are in the juniors they will need to bring their own fruit for a playtime snack. I will remind them to take this to the playground. The children will also be learning Spanish once a week.
In science we will be learning about rocks which links nicely to our Stone Age topic.
In Maths the children will be working their way through the year 3 national curriculum in a fun and interactive way. It is really important that the children keep learning their 3, 4 and 8 times tables through the year in school and at home. The more practise the better!!
A few helpful reminders:
We have PE on a Tuesday where children must bring their PE Kits.
Some children will be swimming again. You will get a letter to let you know whether your child will be swimming this term. If they are not, they will be in school doing Athletics with myself.
Children must read and have their reading record signed every night. If this isn’t completed more than twice in a week then your child will miss their playtime to read with a teacher in school.
Homework goes out on a Thursday and needs to be in and signed by an adult the following Wednesday.
Thank you for your continued support, it is much appreciated!
