Mars – Year 3
My name is Miss Donkin (Miss D) and I am your child’s class teacher. In our class, the children have Ms Hanifan supporting them with their work too.
This term we will be learning lots of new and exciting things about Ancient Egypt! We will learn about how they lived and what Gods and Goddesses they worshiped. We will be learning all about our topics through our creative curriculum of art, dance, D&T, music and P4C.
In English we will be looking at Grandpa’s teeth. This is a loossing tale that all children enjoy! We will also use a variety of texts to assist with writing stories, changing settings, adding in characters and a lot more!
Now that the children are in the juniors they will need to bring their own fruit for a playtime snack. I will remind them to take this to the playground. The children will also be learning Spanish once a week, Recorder in Music on a Thursday and Coding/Computing in class.
In science we will be learning about rocks, electricity, plants and the environment which links nicely to our topics throughout the year.
In Maths the children will be working their way through the year 3 National Curriculum in a fun and interactive way using the Singapore approach. It is really important that the children keep learning their 3, 4 and 8 times tables through the year in school and at home. The more practise the better!!
A few helpful reminders:
We have PE on Tuesday and Wednesday where children must bring their PE Kits.
