London Repair Week – Exciting opportunity for a group of Year 5 children to repair a retro games console!

On Monday, 3rd March, a group of Year 5 students had the opportunity to participate in London’s Annual Repair Week, hosted at BT Group. The event aims to celebrate repair and encourage people to learn new skills while saving money by fixing their belongings. The goal is to reduce waste, combat climate change, and help people reconnect with their possessions.

This year, students had the chance to work together to repair a retro games console! They learned electronic repair skills and explored the science behind how the gadget works. They also had the opportunity to meet Mete Coban, Deputy Mayor for Environment and Energy, and ask his opinion on the current issues London faces due to electronic waste.

The event was on the BBC News that evening at 6pm!
